It is simply amazing that you stayed, that your little heart started beating, that you grew perfect little arms and legs. It is simply amazing that 8 months later you took a breath on your own, that you knew how to suckle, how to survive.
And now here you are, "a ray of sunshine" in your daddy's words - waking with a smile, earnestly conversing with us in your own baby chatter, giggling compliantly at our attempts to get you to do just that.
Every little moment with you is a gift, even as we wake with you in the sleepy nighttime hours - it feels as if the whole world is standing still and there is just us in this moment that could last forever. Your body seems to just melt in my arms, you exhale contentedly, and as you fall asleep blinking slowly, gazing into my eyes nose-to-nose, I am convinced that no greater peace exists.
How your spirit found its way to us little one, we may never understand. But for your presence in our lives, we are profoundly grateful.

You make me weepy...
...in a fantastic wonderful kind of way!
Babe - - You have written and described a mother's love so beautifully. It brought back to me the feelings that I had for you, the magical moments, captured as I held you in the middle of the night and rocked you with a lullaby.
It is a circle, this life, a circle of love. We are all so blessed to have each other, and so thankful that little Willem has joined us on our journey.
